The ELLA International Lesbian Festival was created in Palma, Mallorca, with the aim of promoting visibility and empowerment of lesbian and bisexual women through the arts, music, debates, and interactive workshops. The Festival is an international celebration of the lesbian community – where lesbian, bisexual and trans women can take part in touristic, cultural and educational activities in a safe environment.
In 2017 and 2018, at the 5th and 6th editions of the Festival, 1,500 women from more than 20 nationalities attended the event in Mallorca for two consecutive years, consolidating the Festival as a multicultural and cosmopolitan event of reference for women of the lesbian community all over the world.
This summer we will be hosting the 7th edition of the Festival in Mallorca, promoting visibility and empowerment of lesbian, bisexual and trans women. For more information on the Festival in Mallorca and how to take part please visit www.ellafestival.com.
ELLA Global Community will be expanding the ELLA International Lesbian Festival’s horizons as a not-for-profit event to Central America. We will be hosting the first editions of the ELLA International Lesbian Festival in Central America in Mexico in the UNESCO World Heritage town of San Miguel de Allende from 12 -16 March 2020, followed by the International Lesbian Festival in San José, Costa Rica from 24 – 26 April 2020.
