ELLA Talks 2019 – Inspiring Lesbian Conference
The ELLA Talks Costa Rica – Inspiring International Lesbian Conference is the third event of our ELLA Talks series, and the first one to be held in a Latin American country. The Conference will promote visibility and empowerment of lesbian and bisexual women, and shed a light on their identity, challenges, and aspirations – hereby creating positive and inspiring references from women role models, including role models who are openly lesbian or bisexual.
The full-day programme of the Conference will feature presentations of women entrepreneurs with significant expertise and accomplishments from the private and public sectors, civil society, activists and experts in the fields of rights, health, culture, environment and business. The opening address will be delivered by the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada and the First Lady, Claudia Dobles.
It is anticipated that the Conference will be attended by approximately 500 people, including the ELLA Global Community from Europe, the United States, and women from Costa Rica and the wider Central American region, as well as representatives from government, civil society organisations, the diplomatic community and intergovernmental institutions.
The Conference will take place at the Hotel Camino Real Intercontinental on 9 May 2019 in San José, Costa Rica. The Conference will be a free event, with a voluntary contribution to be donated by participants at will.
